As a private event guitarist based in Worcestershire, I play for all kinds of personal occasions, from intimate home dinners and anniversary celebrations to milestone birthday parties and small garden gatherings. How I work
Simple, relaxed and completely taken care of
Private events work best when the entertainment feels effortless, when it simply adds to the occasion without creating extra things to think about. That's exactly how I try to operate.
I arrive ahead of time, set up quietly in whatever space works best for the event, and am ready to play before your guests arrive. My equipment is compact enough to work well in domestic settings, I'm not arriving with a van full of gear that fills the room. The sound is warm, clear, and at the right level for the space.
I play a wide range of acoustic music and am happy to discuss song requests in advance. If there's something particular you'd like played, a song that means something to the guest of honour, or something that fits the theme of the evening, just let me know and I'll do my best to include it.

One of the things that makes a private event feel personal is music that feels chosen rather than generic. I have a wide repertoire spanning several decades, classic songs most people know and love, played on acoustic guitar in a way that suits the mood of the evening.
If there's a particular style you'd like, or songs you'd specifically like included or avoided, I'm happy to discuss that when we speak. I take requests on the night too, if I know the song, and guests often appreciate that more than anything else.
For milestone occasions like a significant anniversary, I'll sometimes learn a particular song specially. If that's something you'd like, just mention it when you get in touch and we can talk it through.

I'm based in Worcestershire and available for private events across the West Midlands and surrounding counties, including Warwickshire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Shropshire, and into Birmingham and Solihull.
I play at private homes, restaurants, hotels, and event spaces of all kinds. If you're unsure whether your location is within range, just get in touch and I'll let you know. Travel within a reasonable distance is included as standard.
Practical details
What to expect
I bring my own compact PA system and all necessary equipment. Setup is quick and unobtrusive, typically around 20 to 30 minutes, and I'll have everything ready before your guests arrive. I carry full public liability insurance and PAT tested equipment.
For home events, I just need a power socket and a reasonable amount of space to set up. Nothing more complicated than that.

Yes, and I do this regularly. Home events are some of the most enjoyable occasions I play. I bring compact equipment that works well in domestic spaces and set up without disrupting the house or the evening. All I need is a power socket and a reasonable amount of space.
How long do you play for?
That depends entirely on your event. I'm flexible on duration and can play for a couple of hours during a dinner, across a full evening, or anything in between. When you get in touch, let me know your timings and I'll work around them.

Yes, and I'd encourage it, especially for milestone occasions. If there's a song that means something to the guest of honour, or something you'd specifically like included in the evening, let me know in advance and I'll do my best to include it. For very special requests I'm happy to learn something new if needed.
What kind of music do you play?
A broad, warm mix of acoustic music, songs people know and enjoy across several decades, from classic artists like the Beatles and Elton John through to more contemporary choices. The repertoire is wide enough to suit most tastes and I'll always adapt to the mood of the room as the evening progresses.
Is it too loud for a dinner party?
No, getting the volume right for a private dinner is something I'm deliberate about. The music should be warm and present without making guests raise their voices to talk across the table. I set levels carefully for the space and adjust throughout the evening as needed.
